Once you have established a market fit for your new product, that is only the tip of the iceberg in taking it to market. Many initially focus on marketing to build awareness and establish a brand in the market, but ultimately signing those new logos, or cross-selling your new product to current customers is where the dollars roll in. For every new product to be successful, finding those customers is gold. You need to target those potential customers that are true innovators in your market space. It’s easy to say, and not so easy to achieve because most people believe that they need to target the “largest” potential customers in their space (“go big or go home” as they say). It’s not the size of the organization though, that is the critical measure of success. To successfully launch a product requires you need to understand that some potential customers are innovators who will purchase an unproven product purely because they see that it fits their requirements.
